otum is the data and automation engineering team for companies without one. We build the data platforms, back-office automation, and software companies usually need an in-house team for. Senior engineers scope each system, build it, and stay accountable for it.
We are a senior team, working across the UK and internationally. Teams stay small, everyone works directly with the client, and every build is reviewed by a senior engineer before it reaches them.
We are stack agnostic, which means we bring the right engineer to each job rather than bending every engineer to the same tools. You work in what you are genuinely strong in.
We work remotely, with a few hours of daily overlap for the client calls. Some meetings are fixed and there is the occasional trip to a client site. The rest is flexible, and we make time for learning and for reviewing each other's work.
You own the first-party attribution systems that tell a client which channels actually bring them customers. You build the collection, resolve identity to real people, run the models side by side, and feed the true value back to their ad platforms, all in their own stack and owned by them. This is the growth side of otum.
You join the growth side of otum, working on our Attribution builds. Teams are small and you work directly with the client's growth and marketing people. A senior engineer reviews every build before it reaches the client, and you review others' work in turn.
Build server-side, first-party event collection on the client's own domain, consent-aware, so measurement survives cookie loss, ATT, and ad blockers.
Resolve identity to real people from the identifiers customers hand over at checkout or booking, and push the match rate as high as the data allows.
Run multiple attribution models side by side, last click as the baseline alongside data-driven models like Markov and Shapley, so no platform marks its own homework.
Close the loop, feeding the modelled value back to the ad platforms such as Meta CAPI and Google Ads exactly once, so bidding optimises on real revenue.
Build the pipelines that carry high event volume at low latency, idempotent and safe to re-run.
Sit with the client's growth team to tie the numbers to real revenue, and to be clear about what a model can and cannot claim.
Several years building high-throughput data pipelines in production, comfortable with low-latency event processing (for example ClickHouse, and a systems language such as Rust or Go).
Experience with server-side, first-party data collection and consent-aware tracking.
Identity resolution or entity-matching experience, and an instinct for why match rate matters more than model choice.
Familiar with the ad-platform side, conversion APIs such as Meta CAPI and Google Ads, and closed-loop feedback.
Able to work directly with growth and marketing people, and to explain what a model can and cannot claim.
Remote. You can be based anywhere in the UK or internationally, as long as you keep a few hours of daily overlap with the team and the client. Some client calls are fixed, and there is the occasional trip to a client site.
Numbers you can trust, operations that run themselves, all built into your stack and owned by you. Tell us where you want the edge, and we'll build it.
You'll hear from an engineer the same working day, not a sales sequence.
A short call, then a plan, and we start with Proof Week or a full build.
A fixed fee agreed before anything starts, for Proof Week or the full build.
